So you took the leap. You\u2019re pursuing your passions and it\u2019s a relatively new reality for you. Or perhaps you’re entertaining the idea and your ball of nerves and upset stomach have held you back from jumping of the cliff and into uncertainty.<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s just get real and honest about a few things you can expect when you take the big risk to pursue your dreams.<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>You are going to be scared sh*tless, more than once.<\/strong><\/p>\n Fear may be paralyzing at times, yet the desire and passion to do what you love has a stronger hold on you than fear<\/a> ever could.<\/p>\n 2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>There are times you’re going to be uncertain. <\/strong><\/p>\n And it may be really, really uncomfortable. It\u2019s OK.<\/p>\n 3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>You’re going to get way out of your comfort zone.<\/strong><\/p>\n This is a good thing, because you\u2019re going to need to in order to grow and expand the way your purpose asks you to.<\/p>\n 4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>Doubt will inevitably creep in.<\/strong><\/p>\n You’ll eventually learn to either laugh at it and yourself, or spend way too long entertaining it and making tons of meaning out of it when you could be chasing your dreams instead.<\/p>\n 5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>You\u2019re going to piss some people off. <\/strong><\/p>\n Not on purpose, of course \u2014 at least I hope not! Sometimes people around you are afraid of change, and they can certainly be intimated by happiness, so if they try to create drama or conflict, remember: you can\u2019t control that and you don\u2019t have get involved. The only thing you can control is how you react to it. Choose wisely.<\/p>\n 6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>You\u2019re going to learn what you’re made of. <\/strong><\/p>\n There will be times when you want to give up, when you question every decision you made that day. Eventually you’ll just decide to roll with it and know that it\u2019s part of the process. This will end up being incredibly rewarding.<\/p>\n 7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>You will get comfortable asking others for help.<\/strong><\/p>\n Because you’ll need to do it at some point along your journey.<\/p>\n 8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>There will come a day when you’ll want to stop taking risks and settle for something with more security. <\/strong><\/p>\n You’ll ponder it, you really will, then quite quickly you’ll realize that living in your genius is far more rewarding than a false sense of security. There is no going back, because you\u2019ve come this far and it\u2019s simply time to just keep going.<\/p>\n 9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b>You will feel vulnerable.<\/strong><\/p>\n You’ll feel like you don\u2019t know if you\u2019re ready<\/a> to share your art with the world yet. Because it\u2019s scary and so close to your heart, you almost believe it, or maybe it\u2019s simply you aren\u2019t ready for it to be judged. This is normal.<\/p>\n 10. <\/b>There will be a day when you\u2019re as happy as a kid who just discovered their first jump house, all smiles and laughter. <\/strong><\/p>\n In this moment, you’ll wonder, \u201cWhy the hell did I wait so long? I’ve never felt more alive in my entire life. The ups and downs are just part of this crazy ride, and man, am I glad I didn\u2019t quit last week.\u201d<\/p>\n At the end of the day, the risk is always worth it.
